Acerta participates actively in the ‘Happiest Employee’ election (de Gelukkigste Werknemer) because we truly believe your business goals are driven and accomplished by talented, happy employees. With his concept of positive psychology, the American psychologist Mihaly Csiksentmihalyi also builds on this idea. He believes that employees can reach a state of balance and blissfulness by being fully engaged in their job. In this context, Flow is associated with one of the following eight aspects. The person:

* Has a clear goal;
* Is focused and goal-oriented;
* Is fully emerged in the activity and forgets oneself;
* Loses all sense of time: time flies by;
* Receives immediate feedback on performance and results;
* Has the right skills for the demands of the job; and the job is challenging;
* Has a strong sense of personal control over the situation;
* Finds the activity intrinsically rewarding.

In this context, happy employees are an HR matter. How does HR stimulate line managers to improve job content? Can training and coaching encourage employees to actively look for a challenging job? Is a happy employee a more productive employee? We look forward to your comments. Post your views on this forum.
